Charming and Traditional €180 to 250
Heart of St Germain-des-Pres Buci
— Hotel: On your doorstep is one of the busiest streets or 'rues' in Paris, markets, cafes, walk to Rue de Rennes it doesn't come more central than this hotel. It was a little dark last year but a recent paint job has lightened everything up including the rooms. Breakfast in the cave. Large reception lounge area/Mayor's Bar if you wish to have a drink or afternoon tea.
Rooms: If you can afford a suite, its spacious with two rooms and a little corridor, other rooms are fine, not huge but tastefully decorated with a little opulence and flair. It can get quiet noisy on the weekends, when I stayed there was a band playing, loudly, but they stopped by 11am. Its the price you pay to be so close to the action!
Area: A five minute walk to most antique stores, cafes, restaurants, there's really no reasons to leave this area. Lots of Michelin star restaurants close by that we will recommend, all walking distance.

Heart of the Marais Bourg Tibourg - 3 star
— This is a romantic hotel in the Marais. Lots of lovely shops. Lots of plush lounge chairs and oriental antiques its quite decadent. I wouldn't recommend this for families, more couples. Lots of scented candles in the lobby, which you can buy, floral arrangements and oriental carpets. There is no bar or restaurant in this hotel but everything is at your door.
Rooms: Smallish but decor is superb. Bathrooms, small again but lovely black marble and intricate mosaic tiles.
Area: Walk to Picasso Museum, Louvre

Area: This is the best part about this hotel, two minutes to the shopping on Champs-Elysées, and all beauty boutiques.

A stay in Montmartre - 4 stars at the Terrass Hotel
— The wonderful legendary area of Montmartre is at your doorstep. Elegant and comfortable accommodation in this buildings from the 1900s. I personally like this hotel for its no fuss just a 'comfort' approach to everything. The restaurant has a modern approach with not only its decor with greys, black and whites but also a refreshing cuisine menu by an excellent chef. It is well frequented by external clients. Also offered room service until 10pm
Rooms: A little busy with their interiors, but comfortable. All are equipped with Queen size beds, and bathrooms are fine. Junior suites have their own balcony.
Area: Walk to the Sacré-Coeur, Moulin Rouge and of course the many restaurants, cafes and curiosity shops, mostly hidden down little alleyways.

Hôtel Duc de Saint Simon
— We're going to visit and report...promise! I heard such wonderful things about this hotel, its more a small Parisian home than a large hotel. Its for those looking for real Parisian charm, terrace courtyard, art and antiques, rich, colourful, 'toile de Jouy' fabrics.
Rooms: The same ambiance of the hotel is carried into the rooms, most are colour-themed, baby blue, marigold yellow, soft rose. Some have access to the private garden. A very cosy bar area and reading lounge in the cave if you don't want to stay in your room. Room service menu is better than average.
Area: Just behind one of my favourite Parisian street, rue du Bac, walk to the Musee d'Orsay and Louvre. More in your itinerary.
Classic rooms from €225. This is a boutique hotel favoured by regulars to Paris. You can't beat the location and it you don't want neon lights this is the other end of the spectrum. Rooms with No.7 are positioned next to the garden area, I read that this hotel is favoured by Lauren Bacall when she's in Paris!
