Table for Two
Below is a very short list of restaurants that are truly 'haute cuisine'. Most of the chefs are celebrities in France and have other restaurants around the globe. Those restaurants visited have 'comments' posted and we welcome your review if you wish to forward.
You may only have time (and money) for one truly gastronomic experience, reviews can be difficult, one person's dream night is anothers nightmare so we suggest reliable books such as Michelin and Frommers both of whom have numerous reviews posted on their sites.
We have listed based restaurants on their positive media reviews, reputation and world acclaim. We are sure you'll be remembering a meal at any of these restaurants long after you've left Paris.

Relais Louis XIII
— Down a cobblestone street, in the heart of St-German-des-Pres, lies this 2-star Michelin restaurant.
Set in a medieval house you’re surrounded by exposed beams and tuffeau stone. Its old world charm but new world staff and food. Service was extremely efficient, leave the wines to the sommelier who was only too happy to match glass by glass wines that not only to suited the degustation, but our own individual preferences.
From the ‘ravioli lobster’ to the ‘côte de veau’ all was close to perfect. The table opposite, a very chic French couple, chose something lighter, ‘roast chicken and salad’, not something I’d thought I see in a Michelin star restauant; a green, crisp lettuce served in a large silver terrine and a simple ‘cuisse’. Hmmm must be regulars to ask a Michelin chef to prepare such a simple dish!
Lunchtime 3-course menu is available from €50 pp.

Be prepared as these meals are quite rich and heavy but of course delicious. Black Truffles and bone marrow in fine small ravioli with artichoke puree and truffles as a starter, then they suggest an Entree then Dessert. Allow 150+pp with wine. Closed Sundays.
